Today we want to briefly inform you about a small group of people who are actively fighting littering in the streets of Gaarden. It started with the work of a participant who was researching the topic “Garbage in Gaarden” for the upcoming sustainability issue. This initially resulted in a one-off collection campaign for documentation purposes. And finally, this one-time action took on a life of its own. In the meantime, a group of people regularly meets at Pickertstraße 8 on Tuesdays at 2:30 p.m. Equipped with garbage grabs and bags, they take active steps against pollution. The cooperation with the ABK runs almost smoothly, so that the eyesores become less. 🙂
After almost a year, our participant reports that conditions in his nearby neighborhood have improved noticeably. He and his fellow campaigners often receive positive encouragement. Other people realize that it is of little use to complain and complain. Sometimes it helps to take some personal responsibility. 🙂
