The pumpkin is not only healthy and delicious, but also a special decoration in October. Add to this a few chestnuts collected and the new table decoration is ready.
After a period of admiration, it can be transformed into a delicious meal. A soup with ginger and coconut milk, a pumpkin bread with pumpkin seeds, a delicious stew or simply sautéed in a pan.
How about a pumpkin chutney, hot with chilli, according to taste. Add ginger about 2 cm, 1 apple, sultanas, 50 ml vinegar, 175g sugar, 1 onion, a pinch of salt, pepper, cloves, cinnamon.
Try it or create your own chutney. A delicious garnish for many dishes.
If you like it spooky, use the pumpkin as a Jack O’Lantern: the carved grimace in the pumpkin with a light. The old custom, which the Irish introduced for Halloween, is supposed to keep the devil and evil spirits away.
