Rocks are an important part of human life. Since early human history, rocks have been used for various purposes in everyday life, from simple tools to complex dwellings.
Collect Rocks Day, which has been dedicated to this theme every year since 2015 on 16 September, is a holiday where people of all ages can become hobby geologists themselves. In the USA, this day is also often used in schools for field trips.
Unfortunately, it is not known how this holiday came to be, nor who was instrumental in making it happen, nor why it takes place on 16 September.
